A new decoration center is inaugurated in the manufacturing plant in Kierspe, Germany

International cosmetics packaging manufacturer and supplier Quadpack has officially opened its new decoration center at its manufacturing facility in Kierspe, Germany. Already a center of excellence for PET injection and the manufacture of airless packaging, the factory now has a surface area of ​​900 m2 with five high-capacity decoration lines and 11 assembly machines. The installation is part of Quadpack’s strategic plans to become a decoration leader in the industry, following the acquisition of Wicklein Kunststoffveredelung GmbH in October 2021. The increase in assets and know-how, as well as a significant investment in the Kierspe factory, means that it now offers a wide range of decorating services.

Ernesto Cara, Industrial Process Manager at Quadpack, said: “The new decoration center positions the Kierspe plant as a European leader in sustainable manufacturing and decoration. Our increased decorating capability allows us to internalize a service that was previously outsourced. By doing so, we will be able to speed up delivery times and reduce the carbon footprint of our “Made in Europe” solutions.

1 million euros have been invested in the creation of the decoration division. The site is supported by a four-ton steel structure to create an open space with room to expand. An air conditioning system and air filters create the ideal conditions for decoration. The center is made up of 36 employees, with specialized training in decoration techniques.

To date, new trim and assembly lines allow Quadpack to complete proprietary and bespoke factory-built solutions, for a completely streamlined workflow, with plans to add more machines in the coming months. , totaling 10 decorating lines and 14 assembling machines.

A reduction of up to 50% in average lead times for finished packaging is expected at the Kierspe plant. The first projections estimate an annual saving of 170 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
With this new center, Quadpack’s in-house decoration services in Europe now include screen printing, hot stamping, full coverage hot stamping, pad printing, metalizing, color matching, digital printing and laser engraving, with new techniques coming soon. included.

The opening of the center is part of the company’s operational strategy to provide solutions in the region, for the region. Quadpack’s factory in Dallas, Texas also has decorating capabilities, allowing Quadpack to manufacture, stock, decorate and assemble complete packaging solutions in EMEA and the Americas.
